About Adeyemi Asaba
Adeyemi Asaba is an experienced project management professional and development expert with proven administrative and training management capabilities and an exceptional stakeholder communication and broadcast media track record. He has a business perspective of creating synergy between profitable business operations and collective stakeholders’ satisfaction.
In 2013, Adeyemi started his social development career with LEAP Africa, where he advanced to Program Coordinator in the Business Enterprise Unit – Biz LEAP. In this role, he recorded outstanding results, particularly in project planning and execution, managing the successful implementation of the Youth Development Training Program (YDTP) training of trainers in Anambra, Lagos, and Ogun states, reaching over 3,150 direct beneficiaries across 17 secondary schools. He also managed development and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects funded by notable organizations such as Diamond Bank, 7UP, Interswitch, First Bank, and Shell Nigeria, among others.
Adeyemi briefly served as Lead Specialist: Programs and Communications Consultant at Kasher Consulting, where he managed the Total PLC Job Shadow project in Koko, Delta State, and engaged with local and international partners for funding support for the Women at Risk International Foundation (WARIF) project. His contributions were pivotal in WARIF being selected as a grant recipient from the ACT Foundation in 2018. Adeyemi later joined WARIF as a Program Consultant, where he oversaw the Education Pillar and other program-related activities for over four years.
Within two years of the Foundation’s establishment, he collaborated with an effective project management team to secure over $169,444 in grants from USAID (through Pathfinder International) to enhance responses to gender-based violence in Nigeria. He also led the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative activities for WARIF’s School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV) Project, impacting over 6,700 students across 6 tertiary institutions in Lagos and Abuja from 2020 to 2021.
Over the course of a decade in the development sector, Adeyemi has expanded his impact beyond Nigeria to include countries such as Ghana and Kenya, contributing to projects and engagements that span 26 African nations. He has worked across two continents, North America and Africa, demonstrating expertise in project management, implementation, cross-functional team coordination, and high-level stakeholder management.
Currently, Adeyemi leads a team of consultants at VS Management & Consulting (VSMC), a firm committed to accelerating the transformation of the African continent through services in development consulting, non-profit management, program design and implementation, stakeholder management, social impact assessment, and communication for development.
An ardent community reformer with a boundless passion for leadership in project management, Adeyemi has served as a facilitator and consultant in cities across Nigeria, Nairobi, and other parts of Africa. In his dedication to empowering young Africans, he authored a book titled “Be the Change,” a Pan-African development guide designed for aspiring changemakers who seek to transform the continent
